Lot of folks here use the Savox 1256TG. It's not overkill but a 40kg servo would be useless imo

because you will never use 40kg with the small wheels as the st4. The savox 1256 is sufficient.

edit: read wrong, though the 1256 is enough for the mt4 as well :)

I rattled a 3 high end hitec servos apart jumping onto the road. This last one I put as much foam under the servo as I could before I mounted it. And it has lived longer then the last 4 servos combinded.

One cheaper good one from tower is the CS-170(rebadged hitec). It works great, 1 year warrenty, fast turn around, and you can get some good deals on them if you order a few other parts to make the order over $100.

Whatever you choose, have a look at the needed voltage and current. A BEC me be needed to bypass the ESC.

Stronger is always better, just not cost-effective. Choosing a 40kg one just means it would be overpowered, not useless. I agree that 16-20kg is fine for this truck. If you run a CC bec just remember to program it as well, the ones I've used always came 4.8V as default I think.

The best value MT steering servo IMO is that Hobbico CS-170(rebadged Hitec 5955). I have one in my DM-1, and have had a Hitec 5955 for a few years now in buggy and truggy. Some of the best products you can get in RC IMO(the Hitec titanium servos that is..) I'm gonna' run the stock servo til it dies, then put in the CS-170...
